I’m Carly Uttridge—a therapeutic family practitioner, parent coach and mum to two teenagers. Over the years, I’ve supported children, teens, and families in a wide range of settings, including hospitals, schools, family homes, and outdoor spaces.
My journey into this work began in hospitals, supporting young people and their families through some of life’s most difficult moments, including palliative and end-of-life care. It was in those quiet, emotional spaces that I first learned the power of presence, connection, and simply being there without needing to fix or explain.
Later, I founded a forest school and outdoor nursery, where I welcomed children, families, and community groups—including charities—into a space designed for healing and connection. We offered workshops, community events, and opportunities for children to explore and express themselves safely and freely.
Over time, my path naturally evolved. I found myself working closely with families navigating anxiety, neurodiversity, school-based struggles, and emotional overwhelm—particularly in secondary schools and home environments. My approach is gentle, intuitive, and deeply grounded in a belief that every child deserves to feel seen, supported, and safe—just as they are.
I’ve always felt deeply drawn to working alongside children and young people. From an early age, I knew I didn’t just want to guide—I wanted to connect. I wanted to create spaces where children felt truly seen, heard, and emotionally supported. That quiet calling to nurture and protect childhood has been with me for as long as I can remember.
As a mother to two teenagers, and someone who has spent years walking alongside families, I’ve always been passionate about building a life rooted in compassion, connection, and care. But it wasn’t until I began my own healing journey that I truly understood the depth and power of this work.
I’ve experienced anxiety in different ways as a child, I was diagnosed with “hyperactivity,” at the age of 8, which shaped so much of my life. That experience formed my strong belief that every child is different and deserves support that’s flexible, compassionate, and truly individual.
Later in life, I was diagnosed with a rare autoimmune condition, ( impacting my journey through motherhood) and experienced symptoms of PTSD. During that time, I found that traditional approaches didn’t offer the kind of care I needed. This led me to explore more intuitive, nurturing ways of healing—something that now sits at the heart of how I support others.
So I began carving out my own path.
That journey led me to create a therapeutic forest school—a calm, nature-led space where children could play, explore, and just be. What I hadn’t expected was that so many parents and carers would want to stay too. They lingered after sessions, opened up quietly, and began sharing what was really going on beneath the surface.
Without realising it, I was holding space. I was listening, gently supporting, and trusting my intuition to guide each conversation. And it was in those moments—in the woods, in community, in connection—that I realised: this is the work I’m here to do.
That powerful realisation became the foundation for everything I offer today.
At the heart of everything I do is connection. My work is shaped by the energy, emotions, and needs of each individual I support—whether it’s a teenager navigating anxiety, a parent feeling overwhelmed and unsure, or a family simply trying to find their way back to each other.
I offer a calm, steady presence—someone to walk beside you with care, curiosity, and deep respect. Sessions unfold naturally, guided by what feels right in the moment. Sometimes that means gentle conversation, quiet reflection, shared movement, or simply holding space without needing to fill it. Every interaction is grounded in trust, attunement , and the belief that lasting change happens through genuine relationship—not pressure.
While every family’s journey is different, my support often draws on a blend of therapeutic and holistic tools, including:
These tools are there when needed—but the real foundation is always nurture, empathy, and connection.

These qualifications offer structure when needed, but it’s the relationship we build—and the safety we create together—that makes the greatest impact.
